Online stores that should be on your homepage

So as a makeup artist or makeup enthusiast you need to know a few sites that can make you feel all giddy and happy going through them. Mind you, these sites are not Sephora and Ulta alternatives but they're on a different level entirely. At the very least they can increase your products knowledge. I've been obsessing over a few sites these days...

1. Nigel Beauty Emporium

They have a flagship store in California but the online store is also something to be reckoned with. They have everything from brushes and airbrush kits to empty jars and bottles and professional grade creme such as Kryolan, Ben Nye, Graftobian, Kett and RCMA. They have a small collection of hair styling tools, wigs, FX materials, even makeup artist chairs.

2. Frends Beauty

In addition to general accessories Frends has some other brands too, like Sigma, Embryolisse, MUD, Viseart, etc. They have a pretty good collection of pro products like disposables, Stillazi accessories and some Zuca ones too, definitely worth checking out, especially since it has some of the brands that Sephora carries.

3. Alcone Co.

The creme de la creme of makeup supplies with a few locations in NYC. The Kenig+Alcone location on 14th street in Manhattan is a where you can see lots of well known makeup artists and hold quite a few events. They have quite a few amazing brands including products of their own labels. For makeup artists, this is probably the first supply store most to look up.

4. Camera Ready Cosmetics

Another major source for theatre and fashion makeup artists. They also have an amazing collcetion of hard to find brands like Kevin Aucoin and Ellis Faas, etc.

5. Beautylish

This is one of my favorite websites and it has an amazing interactive app that I absolutely livvvvve on.  For about two years it was just an app and then they launched an online shop. They have only a few brands and most of them are brands you generally can't find easily. They have professional Japanese brushes Chikuhodo (notoriusly expensive but amazing quality) and of course the Wayne Goss collection. Though there product line isn't very expansive and varied, they have a good community and editorial section with amazing articles.

6. The Powder Group

Again, a good shop for makeup artists to explore  especially if your'e starting out, or you're just a makeup enthusiast who wants some professional products.

7. Cinema Secrets

They carry mostly their own line but they have some other brands like Dermalogica, Ben Nye and Z palette.

8. Naimie's Beauty Center

I don't really like their website, but they have some great products especially for makeup artists. They have some excellent quality lighting and a good collection of organizers and customizable palettes.

9. Sally Beauty Supply

Now this is an allllll beauty supply source for both retailers and consumers. It has everything for hair and nails, spa and body and skincare.

10. LeCosmetique

A really good collection for Mehron, Graftobian, etc. and disposables and other accessories. They also have their own blog, with information about their makeup workshops.

11. Now these are a few more sites that have their own label products that you can check out for beauty accessories and products:
  1. Cozette
  2. Yazmo.com
  3. Sedona Lace
  4. Of course CrownBrush
  5. BH cosmetics
And of course you should check out Hautelook for great beauty finds at great prices.
